Yes We Can
YES, WE CAN! Sept.
12, 2010
Yes, We Can! is an annual canned food drive.
It begins with a Kick-off food drive by the church congregation.
Then, from 1:30 - 3:30 on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 12, teams of
young people go door to door collecting canned food. Their goal
is 12 tons of food. They bring their collection to be weighed-in
at Bible Baptist Church parking lot. Following weigh-in, there
will be games, a pizza party, prizes for the winning teams,
worship music and devotions.
Here's how it works...
Each
team is assigned one "Mega" food (basic foods
needed by the Mission, such as green beans, corn, etc.)These
"Mega" foods are assigned inside each packet
and are assigned at random. The "Mega" food is
revealed when the team packet is opened at the beginning
of the door to door collection. This makes the collection
something of a scavenger hunt as teams ask especially for
the Mega food they are assigned and an "unusual"
food.
Following
weigh-in, there will be games and pizza, music and
worship, all ending approximately 5:00 pm with the
announcement of the winners.
The
event schedule is as follows:
1:30 to 2:00 --Kick-Off collection of food arrives at
Bible Baptist
1:30 to 3:30 --Scavenger Hunt
3:30 to 4:15 --Food Weigh In at Bible Baptist Parking Lot

Young
people CAN do very positive things to help their community!
They collected over 10 tons of canned food for Kokomo Rescue
Mission's outreach to the hungry.

Better stop in the "bartering"
area to sort out your "mega" food.
